Marinello Schools of Beauty serve students in California, Connecticut, Kansas, Massachusetts, Nevada and Utah and have been providing cosmetology services for more than 100 years -- since 1905, in fact. Now owned by B&H Education Inc., the schools offer certificates in various beauty and salon fields, including cosmetology, hair design, face and body treatments, esthetics, massage therapy, spa therapy, and more. The school's name comes from a 16th-century Italian Renaissance Man named Giovanni Marinello, who once published a book called "The Beautification of the Ladies."
Classes are taught by experienced instructors who have expertise in their field of teaching. In the classroom, they utilize visual and teaching aids while also providing hands-on training. Lectures, live demonstrations and guest speakers may be featured as part of instruction. Each school also has its own Salon and Spa services center, operating like a real salon, that gives students real-life opportunities to work with customers while still receiving tips and guidance from their teachers.
Students will find a supportive environment at their school, both from their instructors and from other students who will be working beside them to learn the same types of skills. While some students will be developing skills for their very first career, others may be switching careers, meaning that students come from a variety of age groups as well as different backgrounds. Students can also find financial aid services, military benefits and career services available through their schools.
