Missouri Western State University is a public university located in Saint Joseph, Missouri. It was established in 1915 as a two-year institution called St. Joseph Junior College. The university enrolls more than 5,000 undergraduate students annually. Missouri Western offers various degrees and programs on the bachelors and masters levels. It is organized into several academic units, which include:

  • College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
  • College of Professional Studies
  • Craig School of Business

Missouri Western's athletic teams are nicknamed the Griffons. They compete in over 7 sports as an NCAA Division II school. The university is a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
