Pennsylvania State University, also nicknamed as Penn State, is a state-supported, land-grant, space-grant, and public research university located in University Park, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in 1939. The university offers more than 15 baccalaureate degrees, over 5 associate degrees, and over 15 minors in various subjects. Penn State's athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division I and Big Ten Conference. The sports teams are nicknamed the Nittany Lions.
