San Antonio College of Medical & Dental Assistants - McAllen is a campus of the San Antonio College of Medical & Dental Assistants, or SACMDA. The college was originally established in San Antonio in 1966. The McAllen branch in Texas was founded in 1984. SACMDA is now part of the Kaplan Higher Education Corporation.
SACMDA McAllen awards the Associate of Applied Science degree in medical practice management, and criminal justice. A number of diploma programs are also available in the fields of dental assisting, computer support technology, and electrical technology, among others.
Students of SACMDA McAllen are offered support services like tutoring and career assistance, and housing assistance. Deserving candidates are also provided financial aid in the form of federal and state grants, alternative student loans, work study programs, and institutional scholarships.
