Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, also known as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi or TAMU-CC, is a state university located in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Ward Island. It was founded in the year 1947. The university is part of the Texas A&M University System. TAMU-CC offers more than 30 undergraduate majors and over 20 graduate programs. The university is organized into the following divisions:

  • College of Liberal Arts
  • College of Nursing and Health Sciences
  • College of Science and Technology

Island Waves is the official student-run newspaper at TAMU-CC. The athletics department of this university is a member of the Southland Conference. The official mascot is Izzy the Islander and the sports teams are nicknamed the Islanders.
