Offering a career-focused education to students is a priority of The Salter School, which has four locations available throughout Massachusetts. Day and evening classes are offered to help with busy schedules, but students can also seek financial aid assistance that may be available to them through loans and grants. This accredited private vocational school has a lengthy history of offering a relevant, job-focused education in the field of allied health. In fact, its main campus opened in 1937, and with the eventual addition of its three other campus sites, The Salter School has continually offered training programs that are applicable to the job market.
Instructors at The Salter School look to provide their students with the skills and training they need, but also to keep them current in the industry knowledge that is helpful to building a career. They strive to stay up-to-date in their teaching methods, but also in the the present-day business practices in the field. In fact, to continually reassess the offerings available at the school, an Advisory Board has been formed to ensure that the school's programs continually stay relevant to career needs.
Although you will be commuting to and from campus, your education will also be supported through hands-on experiences in the classroom as well as at professional sites. Currently, externships are offered in the health claims, medical assisting, and pharmacy tech programs, while an internship is available in massage therapy. These real-life opportunities can enable students to build important job skills, but also to establish helpful professional connections. Students can also find support through The Salter School's Career Services Department, which offers opportunities like on-site career fairs, job search materials, alumni networking and more.
