Thomas Jefferson University, also referred to as TJU, is situated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in the year 1824 and known as the Jefferson Medical College. The institute gained university status in 1969. Students of Thomas Jefferson University are offered degrees in different areas of study including cancer biology, family medicine, physical therapy, neurology, and surgery. Distance learning options are also available at TJU. The university is comprised of the following three colleges:

  • Jefferson College of Graduate Studies
  • Jefferson College of Health Professions
  • Jefferson Medical College

Thomas Jefferson University supports a large number of student clubs and organizations. Among those available on campus are the American Medical Women's Association, Ars Medica, Jefferson Arts Organization, Jefferson Christian Fellowship, Graduate Student Association, and Jefferson Public Health Society.
