The University of Iowa is a public research university located in Iowa City, Iowa, on the banks of the Iowa River. The institute was established in 1847 and currently offers admission to over 20,000 students every year. University of Iowa offers majors in the fields of mathematics, media, and art studies.

The sports teams of University of Iowa are nicknamed the Hawkeyes. The official mascot of the institute is Herky the Hawk. The athletics department of the university fields several teams in football, wrestling, and basketball. The wrestling team won over 15 national titles in 2008. University of Iowa also has many club teams that participate in sports like baseball, rugby, crew, soccer, ice hockey, volleyball, and other sports.
