The University of Maine at Augusta is located in Augusta, Maine. It is a part of the University of Maine System. It was founded in 1965 as a continuing education division of the University of Maine. UMA offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study. UMA is nationally recognized for offering an online bachelor's degree in information and library science. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:
UMA's athletic department fields both men's and women's sports teams, which participate in basketball, hockey, baseball, softball, swimming & diving and soccer, among others. UMA is a member of the Yankee Small College Conference and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.
