University Of South Carolina Beaufort

The University of South Carolina Beaufort is a senior campus of the University of South Carolina. It traces its roots to the Beaufort College that was established in 1795. However, this institute closed down in 1861. The University of South Carolina set up an extension campus at the site of this college in 1959. Also referred to as USCB, the campus occupies 208 acres of land in Beaufort, South Carolina.

The University of South Carolina Beaufort offers associate's degrees in arts and science. Several graduate degree programs are also available. Students can choose from courses in the fields of English, human services, nursing, teaching, business, and education, among others.

The sports teams of The University of South Carolina Beaufort are nicknamed the Sand Sharks. The teams participate in golf, cross country, tennis, baseball, track, softball, and volleyball, and are members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
